Built for local business
Free loyalty program and back office for salons
The Break-even calculator, the Profit by item screen and the Stamp card are free. They are set up for how a salon runs, including how many days a regular can be away before KANJIN flags them.
No card and no time limit. The calculators need no account at all.
How a salon runs
The numbers are set for your trade
Clients come back every six to eight weeks. The whole business depends on whether they book again.
56
days without a visit before KANJIN flags a regular
This is the default for a salon. Writing too early annoys people. Waiting too long means they have already found somewhere else. You can change the number in the back office.

A salon competes on reputation within a few streets. The gap to the salon with the better rating is a number of reviews you can count.
As shown on your Google listing
To show 4.5 stars
55 reviews
55 five-star reviews in a row takes you to 175 reviews and an average of 4.45, which Google displays as 4.5.
To reach a true 4.5 average, rather than a rating that displays as 4.5, you need 72 reviews.

Asking after the visit is what changes the pace. Happy customers mean to leave a review, walk out, and forget.
We assume every new review is 5 stars and none are removed. A higher target gets much harder: each extra tenth of a star needs more reviews than the last, because we divide by how far the target sits below 5.0.

Questions salon owners ask
- How many reviews do I need to overtake the salon down the road?
- The Review gap calculator takes your rating and review count and the other salon’s. It tells you how many five-star reviews in a row would close the gap. The number is usually smaller than owners expect, and it is a target you can work toward.
- Is 30 days the right time to write to a client who has not come back?
- Not for a salon. KANJIN uses 56 days, because clients come back every six to eight weeks. A client at day 30 is not late, they are on schedule. Writing at day 30 is a nuisance. Writing at day 90 is too late.
- Can I compare paying a stylist by commission or by chair rent?
- Yes. The Paying your team tool is in the free back office. It compares hourly pay, commission and chair rent with your real numbers. It appears for salons and clinics because those are the trades where the choice changes the money.
