Six tips

Where you put it matters more than what you buy

  1. 01

    Any tablet from the last five years

    KANJIN is a website, so an old iPad or a cheap Android tablet is enough. Turn on “stay awake while charging”.

  2. 02

    A weighted stand, tilted about 30°

    A heavy base, not a clamp. The tilt lets a standing customer read the screen without leaning over the register.

  3. 03

    Power from the back, always plugged in

    A tablet on battery dies at lunch. Run the cable out of the back of the stand and down behind the counter.

    Away from the window

    A screen facing the door is unreadable at two in the afternoon. Angle it along the counter, not across it.

    Pin the browser to the kiosk page

    Guided Access on iPad and screen pinning on Android lock the tablet to one page. A curious customer cannot open your back office.

    The poster does the rest

    Most customers scan the counter poster with their own phone. The tablet is for the ones who ask, and for your staff.
