About KANJIN
Why the name
KANJIN is two Japanese words that sound the same.
肝心, kanjin, means the heart of the matter: the part you cannot do without. For a shop, that is not the logo or the ads. It is the people who come back.
勧進, kanjin, is older. It was the monks who walked the town, door to door, asking each neighbour for a small gift to rebuild the local temple or the bridge. No rich patron paid for it. Regulars did, a little at a time, and the thing they built was theirs.
That is how a cafe, a salon or a corner shop stays open. Not one big customer. Many small visits from people who chose you and keep choosing you. KANJIN is a tool for looking after those people: know who they are, notice when they stop coming, and ask them back on the days you need them.
Why this exists
A local business with a few slow days a week has two easy options, and both are bad. It can give a discount, which cuts the price for everyone who would have paid full price anyway. Or it can buy ads and compete on price per click against national chains with far bigger budgets.
The thing that works is a person with a local audience who visits, enjoys it, and tells people. That usually happens by accident, once, and never again, because nobody could tell if it worked.
KANJIN tries to make that repeatable. Find the local creators and invite them. Email your regulars on quiet days. Ask the customers who leave happy for a review that keeps working afterwards.
How we make money
A monthly subscription, per location. One account can hold up to five locations, and each one is billed on its own. That is the whole model. We do not take a cut of your sales. We do not sell your customer list. We do not charge creators to be found.
The calculators and the back office are free and stay free. They run in your browser and cost us nothing to keep running. They are also our best advertisement: if the math in them is right and useful, that tells you more than any sales page.
What we will not do
- Fake reviews. KANJIN asks every customer by email, not only the ones who look happy. Picking only happy customers is called review gating. It breaks Google's rules and gets listings penalized.
- Hide that a meal was free. Creators must tell their audience when a meal was free. That is the law, and we will not help anyone get around it.
- Lock in your data. The back office keeps your records in a folder on your own device and exports to a file in one click. Your records on the paid plan are yours to take or delete.
