Counter Mode
FreeLock a shared tablet down to the stamp card and shift notes while staff use it. Only the owner’s four-digit PIN opens the rest of the back office again.
Open itHow to use it
- Set a PIN in Settings, under Counter Mode: four digits, typed twice. The PIN itself is never stored, only a scrambled version of it.
- Press Start Counter Mode in the sidebar (or in Settings) before handing the tablet to staff.
- While locked, the sidebar shows Stamp card and Shift notes only. Typing any other address, such as Settings or the ledger, lands back on the stamp card. Reloading or restarting the browser keeps it locked.
- Optional, in Settings: let staff log the day’s sales while locked. That opens one screen with the day’s total and nothing else from the ledger. It is off unless you switch it on.
- Optional, in Settings: lock by itself after the tablet sits idle for a number of minutes. Five minutes unless you change it, or off.
- To leave Counter Mode press Exit Counter Mode in the sidebar and enter the PIN. Five wrong PINs lock the pad for one minute.
What it does
- What it is for: it stops a curious member of staff on a shared tablet. It is not security against someone with developer tools, because on the free plan your figures live in this browser, and so does the lock.
- Forgot the PIN? Sign in to KANJIN again with your account password and the PIN is cleared. The PIN pad says so.
- Changing or removing the PIN in Settings asks for the current PIN first.
- On the stamp card in Counter Mode, staff see the keypad, the stamp stepper, Rewards waiting and Redeem. The list of regulars, the card rules, imports and upgrade notes are hidden.

Stamp card
FreeA digital stamp card. The customer’s phone number is the card. Type the number to add a stamp. When a customer has enough stamps, the screen says a reward is due.
Shift notes
FreeA message for the next shift. You write it, say which shift it is for, and set the hours it shows. Whoever signs in on this device during those hours sees it as soon as they open the back office.
Daily ledger
FreeType two things as they happen: what a delivery cost, and what the register took. That is all the daily report needs.
Settings
FreeYour numbers live here and nowhere else. Every other screen reads from this page, so you type each figure once.
