Shift notes
FreeA message for the next shift. You write it, say which shift it is for, and set the hours it shows. Whoever signs in on this device during those hours sees it as soon as they open the back office.
Open itHow to use it
- Open Shift notes from the menu, or press Add a note for this shift on the pop-up when you sign in.
- Pick who it is for: Opening shift, Midday shift, Closing shift, or Everyone. The name shows on the note so the reader knows it is theirs.
- Write the note. Up to 500 characters.
- Set From and Until. They start as now until the end of tomorrow, which covers the next shift. Change them for a note about Thursday’s delivery.
- Press Save the note.
- When anyone signs in on this device between those two times, the note pops up first, with a Got it button. Read it, press Got it, and carry on.
What it does
- Times are this device’s local time. The device that shows the note is the device the note was written on, so there is nothing to convert.
- A note shows once per person per set of notes on each device. Reloading the page does not show it again. A new note from a colleague, or a note whose hours begin later in the day, does.
- The screen lists your notes in three groups: Showing now, Coming up, and Past. Delete any with the bin icon.
- Notes stay on this device, with the ledger. If you picked a folder in Settings, they are also saved there as a spreadsheet with the hours they showed.
- If the browser has forgotten your backup folder, the same pop-up asks you to reconnect it first. One press, and the stamp card, ledger and notes save to the folder again.
- Why it asks every time: your browser drops folder access when it closes. That is a safety rule built into the browser, not something KANJIN chose. No website may keep reaching into your files without you pressing a button each time. It is the same reason a bank asks you to sign in again.
- Notes written before this change kept their text and are listed under Past.
PaidWhat the paid plan changes here
Nothing changes on this screen. On the paid plan, the Rainy day screen writes an offer for a wet day, for the regulars who agreed to hear from you. You press Send.
