What your customers see
Kiosk page
FreeThe page a customer reaches by scanning the counter poster, or that you leave open on a tablet you paired. They type their number and get their stamp when staff pressed Ready for the next scan, or on the paired tablet.
How to use it
- Print the counter poster. Its QR code opens this page. You can also leave the page open on a tablet by the register, pinned so it cannot be closed.
- A new customer scans the code when staff say so and types their phone number. They get the stamps for the visit right away. Without Ready for the next scan, the page says to ask a member of staff.
- Then the screen asks, once, for their name, email, the marketing yes, and a birthday. Every field can be skipped. The email is how the review request and your offers reach them.
- If you have it switched on, the screen offers one extra stamp for an email address — once per customer, ever. It is given for the address alone. Ticking the offers box earns nothing extra, and that is deliberate.
- A returning customer types their number the same way and gets their stamps at once. No sign-up again.
- The screen then shows a code the customer can scan to keep their own card on their phone.
- On the customer’s own phone, the page remembers their number for next time and shows “Same number as last time”. One tap collects the stamp. “Not you? Clear it” types a different number. The shop tablet never remembers anyone.
- When the tenth stamp lands, the screen says the reward is earned and shows a code. The customer shows the code at the counter; staff type the number, see the reward waiting, and press Redeem.
What it does
- A tablet gives stamps only after you pair it: sign in on that tablet, open Settings, and press Open the kiosk on this tablet. Unpair it from the same place if it leaves the shop.
- A customer scanning the poster on their own phone gets the stamp when you press ready for the next scan at the counter, within ten minutes. Otherwise the screen says to ask a member of staff, and it says the same thing whether or not the number is on the card.
- The screen shows a first initial, the stamps, and that a reward is waiting. It never shows the reward code; you see rewards waiting at the counter. The card link is shown only on a paired tablet, right after that customer’s own stamp.
- One stamp an hour per customer from the kiosk, counted from that customer’s last kiosk stamp. The rule is applied inside the database as the stamp is given, so two scans at the same moment earn one stamp. The counter can give more.
- A scan gives 1 stamp, unless the counter pressed Ready for the next scan with a different number.
- When the counter presses Ready for the next scan, the kiosk shows how many stamps are ready. The first number typed collects them, even if that customer was here earlier today.
- The same phone number counts once per hour on the kiosk. A second scan within the hour shows the card but adds nothing, so nobody can tap for free stamps. Staff at the counter are not limited this way.
- The page is public and needs no sign-in, because a customer is not a user of KANJIN. It knows which shop it is from the link alone.
- It shows the shop’s name, the big line and the reward you set on the Counter poster screen, in the language you set. It never shows other customers.
- On the paid plan it also shows your logo above the headline, and uses your colour. Above, never instead of: the headline is the reason somebody hands over a phone number, and a logo is only who is asking. A shop with no logo set sees exactly what it saw before.
- Nothing is installed on the customer’s phone and nothing asks for permission. It is a web page.
- The page fits a phone screen: the keypad is smaller on a phone than on a tablet, and the page scrolls if a phone is very short.
- The extra stamp for an email is once per customer for good, and the card remembers it even if they come back in a year. It counts on their card and can complete a reward, but it is not counted as a visit anywhere: it does not appear in how busy your shop was, and it does not tell the win-back that somebody came in.
- A customer who gives an email but does not get the extra stamp is never shown an apology for it. They were offered it only if they could have it.
