Numbers
Break-even
FreeHow many customers one day needs before you have earned anything. And how many it needs to reach the profit you want.
Open itHow to use it
- Type your figures in Settings once: monthly fixed costs, daily labor, average sale, average unit cost, and days open. This screen reads them.
- Type the monthly profit you want, if any. The target line moves with it.
- Press Print this page. Tape the sheet by the back door, so every shift can read it.
What it does
- Each customer only covers what is left after materials: the average sale minus the unit cost. Dividing costs by the full sale gives a number that is too low.
- Fixed costs are spread over the days you open. Then the day’s labor is added. Closing one day a week raises the daily target.
- The answer is rounded up. Customer 46.5 has not covered you. Customer 47 has.
- If the unit cost is equal to or above the sale, the screen shows a message instead of a wrong number.
