How to use it

1. 1Type your figures into the calculator. Nothing you type is uploaded or stored. The answer is worked out in your browser.
2. 2Read the result and its caption. The assumptions are shown on the screen beside the number.
3. 3Save your figures once in the back office. Then this screen, and every other one, answers for your shop instead of a generic one.

What it does

• Paste the link from “Ask for reviews” in your Google Business Profile. The same checker the KANJIN back office uses reads it here, in your browser, and says what is wrong when it is wrong.
• A Google search page, a maps link without a business, or a short link that is not the review one are all refused with the sentence that says what to paste instead.
• The printed wording is fixed and asks for an honest review. It offers nothing in return, because Google forbids that and can remove a listing over it.
• The code is drawn at the highest error correction, so a quarter of it can be lost to a coffee ring and it still scans.
• Nothing is uploaded. The link is read, checked and drawn on your own machine; there is no account and no request leaves the page.

Common questions

Where do I find my Google review link?

Open your Google Business Profile, press “Ask for reviews”, and copy the link it gives you. It usually starts with g.page and ends in /review. A link copied from your browser’s address bar while looking at your listing is usually a search page, which is not the same thing.

Can I offer a discount for a review?

No. Google forbids offering anything in return for a review, and listings have been removed for it. That is why this card has no space for your own wording: it asks for an honest review and offers nothing.

Should I ask only my happy customers?

No. Asking only the people you expect to be pleased is review gating, and it is against Google’s policy as well as being obvious to anybody reading your reviews. Ask everybody and let them say what they think.

Is my link sent anywhere?

No. The checking and the QR code both happen in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, and there is no account to make.

Does a card on the counter actually work?

It works on the people who notice it, which is a small share of the people who liked their visit. It costs nothing to try. Asking each customer directly, by email after they leave, reaches far more of them.
